The following courses fall into the category of the short-term courses:

Language proficiency requirement

Being able to read and write hiragana and katakana is required for all applicants. Prospective students with no experience of Japanese study should be prepared before the beginning of the course.

Academic deadlines

In the case of a short-term course, students must apply one month before its start date. However, beginners who have studied Japanese for less than 50 hours in total can start with an ongoing course anytime during the academic term as long as the class has availability and their proficiency in Japanese is sufficent for the level aimed.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the application form and the online level check below:
  2. Once your application form and level check will been reviewed, we will let you know wich class schedule you can attend and will send you an invoice due two weeks prior to the beginning of the class.

[NOTE]

  • Please note that there is a 10,800 yen non-refundable admission fee. Payment should be made by debit card or cash directly at the school or by bank remittance (* remitters shall bear the bank remittance charge).
  • We highly recommend you to buy a travel insurance before your entry in Japan (* mandatory for homestay candidates).
  • Counselors are available from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Japan time, Monday through Friday. If you would like to check your admission status, please contact us.
  • Cancellation before session starts:
    When a 2-week notice is given prior to the starting date, a 15,000 yen handling charge will be applied. All other fees paid will be refunded.
  • Halfway cancellation (after the session has started):
    The school will charge 20% of the tuition fee equivalent to the rest of the lessons up to a maximum of 50,000 yen, and the rest will be refunded. The admission fee, the application fee and the materials fee are not refundable.

How to Make a Payment

Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin has partnered with Flywire to streamline international payment process for our students. With Flywire, you can pay online, securely from any country and any bank, typically in your home currency.

  • At below, enter your payment amount and country of origin, then click CONTINUE TO FLYWIRE. You will be redirected to Flywire website. Or, just go to flywire.com/pay/shibuyagaigo
  • Select payment method and create (or login to) your Flywire account, then enter some basic information to initiate your payment 
booking. 

  • Follow instructions to send payment funds to Flywire. For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency. (Additional local payment options may be available depending on the country you are paying from.) 

  • Track your payment any time by logging into your Flywire account. Receive text and email status updates each step of the way, including a confirmation when your payment has been delivered to your institution
